***This position will be based in Dallas Texas. However, it requires approximately a 6 months temporary duty assignment (TDY) in Orlando with subsequent frequent follow up travel to Orlando and additional program related work locations***


-Lockheed Martin is seeking a Mechanical / Structures Engineer to join our creative team of engineers.
-The candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in some of Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control’s highly innovative and ingenious solutions to complex technical problems facing the aerospace industry
-This exciting work will include performing research, design, analysis, evaluation, and testing in support of various program areas
-This specific position is related to Mechanical / Structures Stress analysis for development and production of new aerospace products and technologies

-The selected candidate will be responsible for performing structural (Stress and Dynamics) analysis of flight structures for the detail analysis of advanced hardware designs through the full product life cycle.
-Structural analysis will be performed utilizing MFC standard analytical software.
-Additional responsibilities include support testing, design, implementation, evaluation and correlation with simulations.
-The selected candidate will also define mechanical environments to support development and maintenance of performance specifications, and prepare detail documentation reports and presentations

-The selected candidate will work in a collaboratively environment with individuals from complementary disciplines within the Engineering, Manufacturing, and SubContracts organizations

-Grand Prairie is part of the “Mid-Cities” region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas
-Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth
-The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate
-The Mid-Cities is the suburban region filling the thirty-mile span between Dallas and Fort Worth
-These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford), NRH (North Richland Hills and Richland Hills), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth

Basic Qualifications
-Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess an Active Department of Defense Secret Clearance PLUS have had an investigation (or re-investigation) within 6 years

-Candidate MUST have the ability to travel and be willing to work off-sight for an extended period of time due to an approximately 6 month temporary duty assignment (TDY) in Orlando

-Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other related field

-Candidate must have at least 5 years of professional experience (aerospace industry preferred)

-Experience with structural analysis of assembly systems, subsystems, or components
-Experience with structural testing of structural assemblies, sub-assemblies or components
-Experience performing analysis of hardware made from a multitude of structural materials used in the aerospace industry, especially metals and composites
-Experience with core structural software (Nastran and/or Abaqus)
-Experience with core or second tier pre and post processing tools (Ansa, Meta, Hypermesh, Patran, FEMAP, etc.)
-Experience with CAD modeling software (PTC CREO for example)
-Experience with Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
-Excellent writing and verbal communication skills for generating structural analysis plans, structural analysis reports, documentation and potentially proposals are necessary
-Candidate must be capable of performing in a fast paced, dynamic environment, and working in an inclusive, team environment
-Considered a developing talent, and still a learner
Candidate must have strong analytical and organizational skills

Desired skills
-MS or Ph.D. degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field, with at least 3 years of related structures or dynamics experience in the aerospace industry.
-Strength in structural analysis with a desire to learn more and demonstrated strong problem solving and analytical skills
-Experience with dynamic analysis of assembly systems, subsystems, or components
-Strength in dynamics analysis with a desire to learn more analytical skills
-Exposure or Experience desirable with rigid body dynamics tools (ADAMS)
-Experience performing structural and dynamics analysis using classical methods.
-Experience with FORTRAN programming
-Experience with Matlab and MathCAD
-Experience with NASGRO, and MMPDS
-Proven leadership with demonstrated interpersonal skills.
-Creativity/innovation to solve issues related to structural and dynamic performance of any aspect of structure.
-Experience developing and analyzing structures for strength and stability
-Experience writing structural and component specifications, and system/subsystem/component test plans.
-Considered an emerging authority
