The Mechanical Products Team leads mechanical hardware design, development and production of radar, sonar, torpedo and combat system equipment. MPTs Site Development and Integration Group provides engineering support to the design, construction and integration of various facility types. As a member of the engineering team, the individual will support multi-disciplined engineering teams and provide facility engineering solutions and services across all program phases.

Areas of focus can encompass development of requirements for next generation systems, facility design development for existing or new products, transition to construction support, hardware installation support, design and construction subcontractor oversight, customer coordination and program management. The Mechanical Products Team uses state-of-the-art tools, processes, technology, and Six Sigma principles.

The Tactical Radar Products Department is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer position to work within the Site Development & Integration section.

The Site Development & Integration section performs large scale, complex site development and onsite support. Engineers will perform research, design, support construction and development of military and commercial facilities.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Develop, revise, and maintain AutoCAD drawings, models, and designs from verbal directions, hand drawn sketches, and existing hard copy drawings
  • Use preliminary sketches, diagrams, and other engineering information to generate conceptual layouts and/ or one line diagrams for notional facility electrical power systems using CAD tools such as Autocad, and Revit.
  • Support site surveys for facility infrastructure solutions
  • Develop facility requirements and design development for defense system equipment in accordance with system requirements
  • Work with limited supervision and meet commitments for assigned schedule, financial, and technical goals
  • Work with Architect/Engineering (A/E) contractors facility design effort
  • Resolve field issues including coordination with home office engineering, equipment suppliers, and onsite teams
  • Collaborate with Raytheon, Government, and subcontractors
  • Basic knowledge of codes and standards for site installations
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 5 years of experience in a Facility Design Engineering role with minimum one (1) year facility design development, preferably for use in Military environments utilizing military codes and standards
  • Previous experience including concept definition through detailed design and transition to construction
  • Broad background in MEP design and development, facility equipment selection and submittal review, supporting design/construction subcontractors, and field support
  • Experience with CAD design tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software; Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Previous experience includes adaptability and willingness to work varying assignments
  • Demonstrated team player with excellent collaboration skills
  • Proven ability to lead technical solutions to complex user requirements
  • Experience in supporting or leading proposals for new business
  • Advanced degree in mechanical engineering, or facility design/construction related degree
This position is located in Marlborough, MA.
Position can be remote during the COVID pandemic, and will report as a mix of onsite and remote at a future, undetermined date.
