The Mechanical Products Team (MPT) is responsible for mechanical design, analysis, and test of all sensor and effector products across the RMD portfolio. The Mechanical Product Team uses state-of-the-art tools, processes, technology, and Raytheon Six Sigma principles.

The Tactical Radar Products Department is seeking a professional candidate for a Senior Mechanical Engineer position to work within the Tactical Command and Control Design section.

The Tactical Command and Control (C2) Design group perform preliminary design, detailed design, release to production, fabrication, and assembly & integration across multiple product lines. The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, using preliminary sketches, diagrams, and other engineering information to generate 3-D design models and/or conceptual designs.


Performing the detail design, and working with the design leads for the completion of the Technical Data Packages (TDP) for mechanical subsystems. Perform design services across all program phases focused mainly on mechanical design, production engineering support, C2 COTS installation support and TDP Development/ Maintenance.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Use preliminary sketches, diagrams, and other engineering information to generate 3-D design models and/or conceptual designs
  • Supporting detailed designs, working with design leads, or implementing COTS installation activities.
  • Collaborate within a team environment to develop innovative mechanical subsystems with solid modeling practices, and drawing creation using CAD tools such as Creo Parametric, Solidworks, or equivalent.
  • Experienced with solid modeling practices and drawing creation using CAD tools such as Creo Parametric, Solidworks, or equivalent.
  • General knowledge of fabrication processes, capabilities, and limitations
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 5 years experience required
  • Prior work experience in developing mechanical subsystems documentation using CAD software
  • Experience with Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) Hardware Design, Assembly, Installation, Integration, and/or Test
  • Experience with mechanical design applications and fabrication processes
  • Experience with applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5M-1994
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Value:
  • Experience with Radar, Command and Control, or Naval Systems product areas
  • Collaborate in a team environment whether in office or working from home.
  • Experience with Creo Parametric CAD tool
  • Experience with hands-on work; i.e. electronics packaging, HW assembly and deployment, field installation.
  • Experience with Windchill 10.0 PDM link or an equivalent configuration management system
  • Self-motivated with strong organization skills
