The Mechanical Products Team (MPT) is responsible for mechanical design, analysis, and test of all sensor and effector products across the RMD portfolio. The Mechanical Product Team uses state-of-the-art tools, processes, technology, and Raytheon Six Sigma principles.

The Tactical Radar Products Department is seeking a professional candidate as a Senior Mechanical Engineer-Product Owner for the CEC System as part of Advanced Networking Solutions within the Mechanical Computer Aided Design (MCAD) section.

Position is located in St. Petersburg, FL.

The MCAD section performs preliminary and detailed design, release to production, fabrication, and assembly & integration across multiple product lines.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Plan and execute hardware design, support and testing in an agile framework (SAFE) in a regular cadence.
  • Coordinate with program and functional management to support Hardware Engineering program execution with reach back support with MPT & EPT to identify and acquire support from SMEs and skilled resources
  • Lead the hardware agile team as the Product Owner by ensuring tasks remain on schedule and on budget.
  • Provide HW technical support for issues that arise on fielded equipment across all ANS contracts
  • Support program technical artifacts (e.g. Engineering Change Proposals, Contract Deliverable Requirements, Configuration Control Board, Risk & Opportunity Management Board, Parts & Materials Control Board, etc.).
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors degree or additional 2 years of Engineering or Technology experience may be substituted for each 1 year of college
  • 5 years of experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • Experience with Agile execution
  • Experience working with ECP process on government contracts for fielded equipment
  • Experience managing cost and schedule
  • Solid working knowledge of PDM tool
  • Experience generating and working with ICDs, Wire Lists, Cable Drawings
  • Experience with Shipboard, Airborne and Land Based Antenna Systems from design through production and technical support of fielded equipment
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Value:
  • Previous experience supporting CEC Programs PAAA; CAB-S & CAB-E;
  • Familiarity with Naval hardware requirements: EMI, TEMPEST, Shock, Vibe, Human factors
  • Familiarity with Project Drafting Standards (PDS) and Engineering Documentation Standards (EDS)
  • Experience with hardware qualification
  • Previous experience managing teams as a Product Owner or IPT lead
  • Organize and prioritize tasks in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Knowledge of Hardware development life cycle and development processes, methodologies, and tools
  • Strong analytic, technical and problem solving skills
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers
  • Experience with MS Office Suite
