Job Description

Patriot Program Lead Systems Engineer / Cross Product Team lead, responsible for the consistent system performance and development of the Patriot System across configurations and life cycle. Requires strong demonstrated capability in development and governance of system performance requirements, threat analysis, system development process, and EVMS. Knowledge and experience working and leading Agile Development efforts desired. Demonstrated capability to build strong working relationships between program technical leads, program management leads, and program execution leads. Demonstrated capability to develop and govern execution of product development and technology insertion roadmaps. Strong demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Provide technical engineering leadership to a systems engineering team of up to 200 people across the Patriot portfolio of programs, including US, international, and IRAD efforts.
  • Establish and manage execution plans for work scope with a total budget of ~$100M+ for the Engineering Services, System Improvement, International, and IRAD contracts
  • Primary interface for the Program Office and customer communications; must be able to clearly communicate issues and resolutions on matters that impact the ability of the program to meet its deliverables and milestones
  • Plan out and lead the incremental break-in upgrades and system improvements, including developing bids and supporting proposals for new efforts
  • Prepare material and lead successful completion of Internal Reviews, Gate Reviews, Customer TIMs, Quarterly EACs
  • Support the development, review, governance, and release of all system requirements, interface requirements and design documents and system architecture
  • Support the implementation of system design, analysis, algorithm development, modeling and simulation, and integration and test activities across the programs
  • Define the staffing, engineering process and tool requirements for the SE team to realize program execution efficiencies
  • Manage and technically engage with major subcontractors and partners to ensure program deliverables
  • Support the capture of new business and influence the technical roadmaps and product line roadmaps, also ensuring they are reflected in program planning and execution

This position requires a US Secret Security Clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Required Skills:

  • 12 or more years of relevant work experience
  • US citizenship
  • A current US Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelors Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) or other related field
  • Proven abilities as a technical leader who can develop work plans and drive execution
  • Experience with developing and integrating combat systems across multiple platforms
  • Experience leading engineering teams
  • Ability to present complex data to senior leadership succinctly and efficiently
  • Direct experience managing resources with multi-million dollar annual budgets
  • Experience using program management tools such as Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Plan (IMP) / Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and Risk and Opportunity Management to identify issues and develop recommended courses of action to management
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing technical roadmaps into products and/or product lines

Desired Skills:

  • Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in leading and executing the design and development of complex system architectures
  • Prior experience with leading and conducting radar trade studies, radar system development and design, RF systems requirements development and management, and radar system integration and test
  • Demonstrated experience across the product lifecycle, including concept development, architecture, design, integration, verification, and production
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to interact with and influence Department of Defense (DoD), and/or commercial and non-traditional customer sets
  • Proven ability to develop effective internal and external customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and continued business
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related discipline
