Here is your opportunity to be part of an incredible AI R&D and production team building the next-generation of advanced sensing algorithms and user interactions in iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad and more. We are looking for a creative senior software engineer with expertise in building software infrastructure for algorithm development, data engineering and continuous integration. Working knowledge of basic statistics and leadership skills will broaden your role and effectiveness in this position

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industry experience
  • 2+ years of experience in developing continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines (e.g. Jenkins)
  • Proficient knowledge of git, Docker and containers, Kubernetes
  • Proficiency in distributed storage and processing of big data with Hadoop and Spark
  • Experience with Splunk
  • Experience with database management systems and tools including but not limited to Cassandra, MangoDB, SQL
  • Strong programming skills in Python
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks (such as TensorFlow and Keras)
  • Team lead, project management or people management experience
  • Strong programming skills in C or C++
  • iOS App development skills
  • Experience building scalable ML systems spanning multiple teams or organizations

Your passion for leading infrastructure efforts for state-of-the-art sensing technologies will be essential to your project and a key component to our team of world-class engineers who are driven to create the next big thing using advanced algorithms. You will contribute to architecting and developing softwares and pipelines to shorten the algorithm development life cycle from data curation to integration and deployment. The emphasis will be to work on edge of creativity technologies, but highly impactful AI technologies that will help improve our users' experience, which has always been at the core of Apple's agenda.

More specifically, you will:
- Develop continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines on top of Apple infrastructure for multiple algorithm development teams
- Design and develop data engineering tools to store, manage, query and visualize big datasets
- Create data and metric visualization tools, web UI dashboards with Splunk and Tableau
- Join a thriving Machine Learning community at Apple (https://machinelearning.apple.com)

Education & Experience

B.S. or M.S. degree in CS (preferred), EE, or Statistics
+5 years of experience in industry
