What you will do!
You will serve as the agency policy advisor on electricity systems, transmission and generation, and associated resources and technologies. Duties including advising the agency Director and program managers, researching, analyzing and evaluating policy and programmatic energy policy issues.

This is a full-time position that is not represented by a union.

Requirements

To be considered for this position you must meet the following minimum qualifications (required skills):

A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Law, Political Science or related degree; AND five years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work.

OR

Any combination of experience and education equivalent to eight years of professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work related.

Note
: The successful candidate is required to possess and maintain a valid driver's license issued by the state where they reside and maintain a satisfactory driving record.

Requested Skills
While these skills are not required, candidates who are the most competitive will have the following:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Background and skills in energy or natural resource related policy analysis with emphasis in integrated resource planning, regional grid planning, and energy system resiliency.
  • Experience in public speaking.
  • Knowledge of current trends in energy policy with preference for expertise on electric system, reliability, resiliency, and interconnection.
  • Knowledge of energy technologies, including energy storage, smartgrid, and renewable energy.
  • Ability to communicate complex policy issues to stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop strategies and achieve goals in a team-based environment.
