Senior Electrical Engineer

Aegion Coating Services (ACS), a part of Aegion Corporation’s Corrosion Protection platform, is headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and primarily serves markets in North America, South America and the Middle East. We combine a variety of pipeline coating and rehab technologies for onshore and offshore installations, including internal and external field joint coating, custom coating for fittings and line pipe, and engineered specialized equipment technology such as internal, non-tethered, robotic coating applications. ACS owns one of the largest fleets of field joint coating systems in the world, has over 30 robotic patents related to internal pipeline weld coating, and has coated over two million field joints globally.

ACS is seeking a self-motivated and energetic Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Engineering Team in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, the Senior Electrical Engineer researches, develops, designs and tests electrical components, equipment, and systems. The primary task is to design, test, and troubleshoot PCBs and electronic hardware for industrial robotic equipment. A secondary task is to troubleshoot and provide engineering support for fixed industrial coating plants.

Position Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Design electrical equipment and systems for manufacturing.
• Provide engineering assistance during the fabrication of electrical equipment and systems.
• Ensure that manufacturing, installation, and testing of equipment conform to engineering requirements.
• Troubleshoot and assist with the repair of faulty electronic components and equipment.
• Apply a critical thinking mindset to problem solving, embracing innovation and continuous improvement.
• Ability to occasionally travel both domestically and internationally to provide engineering support.

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering from four-year college or university,
• 5+ years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• PCB Design, including knowledge of industry-standard practices for schematics, board layouts, specifications, tolerances, and gerber files. Experience with Altium Designer preferred.
• Experience testing and troubleshooting electronic systems from board level to system level. This includes both bench testing and field testing.
• Familiarity with test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, DMMs, etc.). Ability to solder surface mount components.
• Wiring diagram and cable harness design experience.
• Circuit analysis ability, both manually and wifth SPICE.
• Experience with DC motors and controls, especially H-Bridge design, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents. Strong technical writing skills for generating reports, manuals, specifications, and test procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, or customers.
• Professional Engineering (PE) Certification preferred.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, and evaluate potential solutions. Ability to apply a methodical approach toward both design and troubleshooting tasks.
