Job Description

In this role you will develop architectures for digital hardware and software systems, implement digital signal processing algorithms in FPGA, and be task leader for projects related to these technologies. In addition you will be a contributing member of proposal efforts.

The RF Photonics and Materials (RFPAM) Division currently performs advanced systems research that involves the development of new material technologies, RF photonic and electronic integrated circuits, and RF/millimeter-wave (mmW) devices. These components and sub-systems are used in a variety of systems and applications, primarily for DoD platforms and radar systems.

Education & Length of Experience

Senior Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist

• A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other appropriate field and seven (7) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
• A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other appropriate field and nine (9) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor’s degree, or
• A Doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other appropriate field and four (4) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree.

Required Minimum Qualifications

• Experience with abstract math, real time hardware, signal processing or FPGA design.
• Expertise with MATLAB or Octave, C or C++, VHDL or Verilog, or Xilinx or Altera parts

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years of experience in related work
• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other appropriate field, or equivalent work experience
• Demonstrable skills in project leadership
• Experience with RADAR technology
• Experience implementing digital signal processing algorithms in FPGA

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
