Job Description

Intel's Programmable Solutions Group (PSG) team develops comprehensive solutions to provide customers easy and efficient access to the capabilities of Intel's FPGA devices. These solutions are provided as highly-configurable intellectual property (IP) cores that are fully integrated with PSG's software CAD tool, Intel Quartus.

Within PSG's Custom Logic Engineering (CLE) Department, you'll be part of the FPGA Verification Engineering Team (CFVE).

As a Senior Pre-Silicon Design Verification Engineer, you will work with a team of engineers to develop and verify state-of-the-art Infrastructure Processing Units design. You will be working on advanced device architectures, design definition, implementation and verification. Your specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Architecture and implementation of scalable and reusable validation environments and test content

  • Test plans implementation, reviewing and executions

  • Developing comprehensive verification solutions encompassing traditional UVM-based DV and static verification tools

  • Driving verification methodology initiatives within the team, aligning with best known methods across PSG

  • Hardware validation, system debug and root cause analysis

You must possess the below minimum education requirements and minimum required qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Relevant experience can be obtained through schoolwork, classes, project work, internships, and/or military experience. Additional preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.


Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

Minimum Qualifications

7+ years of total experience including the following:

  • Experience in design/design verification and functional modeling.

  • Experience in defining verification test bench for complex design including multiple different interface and protocol

  • Experience in defining and implementing functional verification and coverage, including testbenches, scoreboards, checkers, and other collateral

  • Experience on software programming and/or scripting languages

Preferred Qualifications:

10+ years of experience design/design verification
Experience in one (or more) of the following:

  • Experience on Ethernet, network switch , routing related application verification , bring-up and validation

  • Experience as a Verification Lead on SoC level verification on functionality, performance, and security

  • Experience leading/mentoring/developing junior level engineers

  • Experience with PCI Express Protocol or other high-speed protocols example Ethernet
