Job Description

The Senior Cybersecurity Researcher in the Robins Avionics Branch in the Warner Robins Field Office will be responsible for the cybersecurity posture of various systems, including Electronic Warfare, Avionics, and Communications systems. The Senior Cybersecurity Researcher will research and implement cyber-resiliency and cybersecurity requirements. Additionally, the position will develop Risk Management Framework documentation, test strategies/plans, system-specific requirements, and cybersecurity strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Lead teams of cybersecurity researchers to accomplish program goals and meet program timelines
  • Develop cybersecurity technical documentation in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) Risk Management Framework (RMF) guidelines
  • Teach junior cybersecurity researchers National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), RMF, and other applicable guidelines to accomplish assess and authorize actions
  • Analyze and synthesize electronic warfare system data into architectural analysis reports
  • Examine system implementations of cybersecurity controls for their applicability and level of effectiveness
  • Create and review system security engineering and weapon system cybersecurity validation and verification reports
  • Design security and continuous monitoring plans for systems and supplied government furnished information
  • Develop procedures to meet systems cybersecurity requirements
  • Produce security analysis reports using intelligence-based sources
  • Develop impact/risk analysis reports and risk briefings
  • Create road-maps to system Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
  • Meet and develop plans and milestones for IPTs to integrate cybersecurity into their systems lifecycles
  • Providing cybersecurity requirements scoping support for numerous programs/systems
  • Regularly interact with sponsors throughout the project life cycle
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Length of Experience

Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist/Associate II

  • A Bachelor's and Master's degree with one or both in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Bachelor's and Master's degree with one or both in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelors degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree and Master's degree with one or both in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Senior Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist/Associate

  • A Bachelor's degree and Master's degree with one or both in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and seven (7) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Bachelor's and Master's degree with one or both in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and nine (9) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelors degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree and Master's degree with one or both in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and four (4) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level II or Level III certification, i.e.(Certified Authorization Professional (CAP), CompTIA Advanced Security Professional (CASP+), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC), Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO)
  • Experience developing RMF documentation and packages for platform information technology systems
  • 3+ years of experience in system accreditation, security analysis, information assurance, or other cybersecurity fields
  • Active DoD SECRET clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with embedded electronics systems and aircraft serial buses such as MIL-STD-1553
  • Experience creating and conducting technical presentations
