This position can be located in Santa Clara Valley (CA) or Seattle (WA).

AIS Assurance is seeking a security researcher to join our Applied Research team. This unique team focuses on proving previously unknown and theoretical threats within Apple corporate networks. As a member of our Applied Research team, you'll often be tasked with exploiting challenging targets across the wide breadth of applications, software, and hardware that keeps Apple running!

Key Qualifications

  • Strong, proven track record of self-directed learning
  • Proven experience coding in Python and/or Golang
  • Good experience with network programming
  • Experience with web application security
  • Experience with vulnerability discovery and exploitation in multiple forms
  • Experience with code auditing (C, C++, Java)
  • Experience with working with development teams / system owners to mitigate findings and verify remediation
  • Exposure to pentesting
  • Exposure to reverse engineering (x86, ARM64)
  • Strong habit of detailed note-taking for sharing with team members
  • Comfortable presenting technical work to large audiences and/or senior management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication

Description

You will join a team of top-tier researchers and operators passionate about using their unique skillsets to secure Apple. This team requires creative minds in order to navigate unexplored paths, and an innate ability to be thrown into a technology or environment and learn your way through it.

This role will have a focus on the development of network security scanners as part of our internal vulnerability scanning platform. This platform is written in Golang, so strong experience in Golang network programming will be a significant advantage for any candidates.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS ROLE INCLUDE:
- Analyzing software, hardware, and web applications for methods of fingerprinting and writing network scanners in Golang
- Researching software, hardware, and web applications for vulnerabilities and developing exploits as needed
- Supporting and contributing to Red Team operations
- Relaying technical findings (acute and systemic) to stakeholders for remediation

Education & Experience

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent experience
