Job Description

Come to Intel's Product Assurance and Security (IPAS) organization and join the team charged with security Intel's software products. Not only do you have to help determine the best way to secure software products, but to do it at the scale of a Fortune 50 company that delivers solutions across the entire software spectrum; pre-boot firmware, firmware, OS kernel, driver, user application, application framework, web applications, cloud applications and everything in between.

As a part of a team of security researchers, you will be responsible to determine the best security assurance solutions for product teams to incorporate into their development flows and how to do so in a way that minimizes disruption to their velocity and efficiency.

Role responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Collaborate with engineers, consultants and leadership to address security risks and provide mitigation recommendations within the Secure Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

  • You will be working with software developers determining the best ways of integrating security tools into their development workflows.

  • You will be working with software developers to fix security vulnerabilities and hands-on testing of tools and hardware components.

  • The final line of support to help troubleshoot and debug issues that arise

  • Support DevSecOps activities

  • You will NOT be IT support for tools and must have a much deeper understanding of how these tools work and how they benefit the teams that are using them

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in a Software Engineering or related field

  • Deep knowledge of security concepts such as attackable surface area, least privilege, buffer overflows, stack canaries, and many more

  • Deep understanding of how software is actually put together all the way from the creation of source code all the way to how binaries are actually created by the compiler and linker as well as how dynamic language applications run and execute

  • 8+ years of experience working within software development

  • 5+ years SW security hands-on experience

  • Hands on experience with static code analysis, software composition analysis, fuzzing, penetration testing tools and other security validation tools

  • An understanding of how many if not most of those tools work.

  • Experience with multiple languages such as C/C++, Java, Go, Python and Perl etc. and understand how to detect and remedy related security issues such as OWASP top 10.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Penetration testing and security assessment tools like Burp Suite, Wireshark, Nmap etc.

  • Scripting skills, including Shell, Perl, or Python.

  • Mobile, embedded and web application security concepts.

  • Development in C/C++

  • Understanding of the underlying HW of x86 based systems

  • Experience Developing in-house tools using an interpreted programming language like Perl, Ruby, PHP, Python etc.

  • Experience with firmware development cycle including pre and post silicon requirements gathering and execution

  • Object-oriented programming, data structures and algorithms.

  • Experience with validation platforms such as emulation, post-si board and simulation.

  • Technical certifications within information security are a plus (CISSP, GIAC or equivalents)

  • Technical expertise in one or more of the following: application security, web services security, cloud/virtualization security, open source software security
