Job Summary:
Raytheon Solipsys, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Raytheon Missile and Defense (RMD) and Raytheon Technologies (RTX). Solipsys is an industry leader in the development of integrated C4I Network Centric Defense System solutions for both the Domestic and International DoD.

We are currently looking for a Systems Engineer to serve as the Section Manager for the Systems Fielding and Customer Support engineering group. The successful candidate will be engaged with exciting and innovative advancements in Multi-Sensor and Information Fusion, Networked Situational Awareness, and Visualization technologies at our Fulton, Maryland office (in Maple Lawn). This Section Manager is the pivotal lead for all technical interaction with our customers, responding quickly to all customer technical needs, dynamically scheduling resources to travel to remote locations all over the world as well as manning the 24/7 Help Desk, and bringing forth innovative solutions in the customer service, product installation and training areas, all to capture customer loyalty and ensure a bright path for future sales.

This position offers part-time Telecommuting.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Serving as the technical authority for the business for Systems Fielding and Customer Support activities including:
  • System Installation and Checkout at customer sites in both domestic and international locations
  • Customer Onsite Technical Support
  • 24/7 Customer Support Center (CSC)
  • System and Product Training Innovation and Deployment
  • System Hardware Definition and Deployment
  • Hiring and supervising Systems Fielding and Customer Support personnel
  • Planning and Assigning staff to technical tasks and monitoring performance against expectations
  • Providing development and career guidance to Systems Fielding and Customer Support staff

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Systems Engineering
  • Previous experience in the end-to-end application of command and control systems to air surveillance, defense, and control mission with proven experience in customer support
  • Previous experience leading technical staff, assigning personnel to tasks and monitoring performance in a matrixed environment
  • Experience in estimating systems engineering tasks, producing Bases of Estimates (BOEs), and Proposal Responses for ECNs as well as new business capture initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Linux operating systems as a user
  • Willingness for occasional domestic and international travel (10%).
  • A DoD Secret Clearance required on day one

Qualifications We Value:

  • Experience as a US Military Systems Specialist performing as a tactical operator or system administrator of systems providing situational awareness, air control, air traffic operations or maritime operations
  • Adept at communicating (verbal and written) with all levels within and outside the company, ability to prepare and deliver presentations/summaries which appropriately address the intended audience.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, working as part of a team.
  • CompTIA Security+ and Red Hat Linux Administrator certifications
  • Previous experience operating C2 software with sensors or tactical data links (such as Link 16 and CEC) with emphasis on track management function.
  • Experience in planning, developing and performing training of a technical topic such as watchstation operations or system maintenance.
  • Hands on experience installing and configuring COTS computing systems and peripherals such as Dell PowerEdge rack mounted servers and Dell Precision workstations.
  • Previous experience using Solipsys products such as BC3, Zeus, Tactical Display Framework (TDF) and Multi Source Correlator Tracker (MSCT).
  • Strong ability to work with standard MS Office product suite applications.
