Position Overview: The Manufacturing Engineering Section Manager within Operations is responsible for leading a support team consisting of Section Leads, Manufacturing Engineers and Project Engineers who are technically trained individuals with diverse backgrounds and varying levels of experience. The successful candidate will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Department Manager and will be accountable for providing functional support and producibility expertise to the RMD Louisville Site through the management of approximately 25 engineers. The Section Manager will be responsible for coaching and training Engineers in Manufacturing and Test Engineering (MTE) skills and processes in addition to mentoring and providing career guidance. Responsibilities also include chairing the process control board, providing technical guidance, coordinating resources, managing team staffing levels, conducting interviews, EAC forecasting, project ownership, cross functional collaboration, coordinating with other teams, safety and performance development. The ideal candidate will possess the demonstrated skills and experience necessary to perform in both technical and manufacturing leadership roles.
The Section Manager is the producibility expert within the RMD Louisville Site and acts as the approving authority for the associated manufacturing process. The Section Manager is responsible for the technical quality of engineering tasks and must ensure the proper processes and technical oversight are completed. The Section Manager is also expected to support proposal activities and provide cost estimates for program bids and fiscal year planning.
The candidate must be capable of working beyond the typical 8 hour work day and 40 hour work week, including alternating weekend and holiday coverage throughout the year. This position requires direct support of manufacturing activities and spending nearly 100% of daily time in the factory areas.
U.S Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Position Requirements:
Bachelors degree in STEM and a minimum of eight (8) years of technical/engineering experience with emphasis in manufacturing or industrial engineering
Experience in a manufacturing and test environment
Experience in leading teams or projects
Experience with MRP systems (ex. SAP)
Experience with Lean Manufacturing
U.S. Citizenship is required
