Job Summary:

The System of Systems Modeling and Architecture Directorate performs customer focused operational analysis and simulation activities within Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD). Supporting this mission are teams driving flexible integration solutions crossing all product areas (sensors, effectors, command and control, logistics and operations), developing tools and methods to evaluate system level analysis and visualization based on customer requirements. Join this highly visible team and perform technically challenging assignments, directly contributing to protecting our nation and our war fighters. Specifically, we are looking for a Section Leader for Product Intelligence in the Mission Modeling & Analysis (MMA) Department. This Departments goal is to produce materials to support, drive, and enable key business captures, current programs, special projects, and corporation-wide business opportunities. This position is located in Tucson, AZ. Section managers provide guidance and management to a team of approximately 10 Engineers

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • You will provide guidance, direction, mentoring and influencing skills, and foster teamwork and interdependent execution for approximately 10 15 Engineers
  • You will participate in talent acquisition, goal setting, performance development, and appraisal for your team
  • You will ensure each direct report has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth and career advancement
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree
  • With a Bachelors degree listed above, you must have eight (8) years or more of documented work and/or academic experience in the following areas (a Masters degree will satisfy 2 years of work experience and a PhD will satisfy 3 years of work experience):
    • Experience managing a team of entry or intermediate level professionals
    • Experience setting day-to-day goals and targets for team members
    • Technical expertise with US Government Modeling and Simulation tools such as AFSIM, STORM, NGTS, OneSAF, or Raytheon tools such as RCADE and OpsTool
    • A functional, or program lead role within the MMA department
    • Participation in, and support of, Front end of the Business (FEOB) studies for US DoD services, or international military sales
    • Evaluating new Operational Concepts, and developing new technology use cases
    • Preparation and presentation of technical and analytical information to both internal and external customers/clients
    • Experience developing or simulating physical systems
    • Academic or work experience in modeling, simulation, statistics, and/or evaluation as related to understanding the behavior and performance of existing or proposed engineering solutions
  • US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Value:
  • Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related discipline
  • Experience with hardware/software integration
  • Previous management experience in the following:
    • Developing and mentoring new employees
    • Communicating with different levels of employees, departments, and/or customers
    • A leadership role within a RMD department and/or function
    • Team building
    • Interviewing and hiring new employees
  • Experience and knowledge of the Air Power (AP), Naval Power (NP), Advanced Tech (AT), Strat. Missile Defense (SMD), or Land Warfare (LWAD) Mission areas.
  • Technical expertise with Raytheon owned Modeling and Simulation tools such as OPSTOOL or RCADE
  • Existing TS/SCI security clearance, or past qualification for this clearance
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with subordinates, customers and senior managers throughout the companys organizations
  • Strong mentoring skills, both technically and professionally
  • Experience and knowledge of the Integrated Product Development System (IPDS), Proposals and Basis of Estimates (BOEs)
This position can be a Mgr, Systems Engrg or Sr Mgr, Systems Engrg based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience, and responsibility requirements for the position.
