The Mechanical Products Team (MPT) is responsible for mechanical design, analysis, and test of all sensor and effector products across the RMD portfolio. The Mechanical Product Team uses state-of-the-art tools, processes, technology, and Raytheon Six Sigma principles.

The Configuration and Data Management (CDM) center is responsible for ensuring our products are under configuration control and delivered on time. The CDM Organization consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers. Disciplines in the CDM organization participate in the life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation. The CDM organization is comprised of Effector CM (ECM), Data Management (DM/DEX), Software Configuration Management (SWCM), and Sensor CM (SCM).

The Data Management, Engineering Support and Execution (DEX) Department is seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to fill a Section Leader position.

This position is located onsite, in Tucson, AZ
This position can be a Section Leader I or a Section Leader II, based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position

The Section Leader will report to the DEX Department Leader, part of the Mechanical Products Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of approximately 15 20 Data Management (DM) professionals, and performing a range of DM and engineering support tasks on multiple RMD programs.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Primary responsibilities include providing adequate resources to programs based on current and future business needs, ensuring execution is within cost/schedule, and identified risks managed effectively. The Section Leader is responsible for generating, reviewing, and approving DM bids and participating in engineering program and quarterly Estimate at Complete (EAC) reviews.

Other responsibilities include, participating in strategic planning sessions, staffing, goal setting, performance development, training, employee recognition, and career development. The candidate will ensure two-way communication for section members, and serve as the day-to-day liaison to the programs concerning employee job assignments, performance and recognition. The Section Leader will work with the Department Manager in the development of this section, including definition of charter, objectives, organizational development, and in the execution of DEX and RMD engineering goals.

Qualifications you must have:
  • Bachelors degree in business or related field (Bachelors degree or additional 2 years of data/configuration management experience OR professional experience may be substituted for each 1 year of college)
  • 5 years of Configuration / Data Management experience OR professional experience for Section Leader I / 8 years of Configuration / Data Management experience OR professional experience for Section Leader II.
  • Experience with government standards and processes, such as described in EIA-649, Configuration Management Standard and GEIA-859, Data Management Standard
  • Experience with generating Data Management productivity metrics and reports
  • Experience with estimating, proposing, and managing data management cost and schedule on a program
  • An active and in-scope DoD US security clearance
Qualifications We Value:

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Possess strong communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
  • Able to generate and deliver customer presentations
  • Ability to interpret scheduling and milestone requirements
  • Collaborate in a team-based environment consisting of organizational and outside customer contacts to meet project goals.
  • Sense of urgency; ability to meet challenging deadlines
  • Strong business acumen including planning, forecasting, analytical skills, and ability to negotiate & Influence
  • Proven ability to coordinate & manage project issues, risks and changes
  • Strong skills in interpersonal communications, relationship building, and in collaborating on cross-functional teams comprised of diverse personalities, skill sets, and levels of experience
