Whole Life Engineering (WLE) is made up of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer and end user.

Job Summary:
As a WLE Section Lead for Advanced Training & Graphics Solutions youre responsible for leading a diverse team engaged in the following:
  • Developing documentation for Operations, Maintenance, Depot Procedures and System Administration guides and providing a variety of training avenues for these areas
  • Developing high quality graphics (including 3D CAD models) for training and technical manuals that follow MIL-STDs
  • Deploying remote collaboration technologies in the support of Subject Matter Expert collaboration with remote systems and personnel.
  • Leading real-time performance support solutions for systems operations and maintenance personnel, including responding to Customer technical questions and participating with other engineering disciplines to ensure successful operation of our products.
  • Ensuring best practices and emerging methodologies such as AGILE framework are implemented throughout the organization.
  • Providing guidance and oversight for sub-contractor developers responsible for creating technical documentation and training content.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Employee development and performance assessment
  • Budgeting, manpower planning
  • Cost proposal and Estimate at Completion development and review
  • Providing team training in the following to ensure consistency in program reporting and leveraging best practices across programs:
    • Integrated Product Team / Cross Product Team Leadership
    • Earned Value Management System
    • Integrated Product Development System
    • Program execution.
  • Coaching and career development including performance development summaries, merit increases, promotions and performance improvement plans
  • Oversight of personnel issue resolution
  • Tool and process development
  • Coordinating section meetings, proposal development activities and engagement with business partners and program leadership to ensure timely execution of program requirements

An advanced degree can be substituted for additional years of experience as follows: Masters is equal to 2 years of experience or a Ph.D. is equal to 5 years of experience.

Qualifications You Must Have:
Education: Bachelors Degree or an additional 2 years of relevant professional experience may be substituted for each 1 year of college.
Employment Experience:
  • 8+ years experience executing engineering, logistics or manufacturing disciplines
  • Leadership experience
  • Experience with budget management
  • Experience developing or deploying technical manuals or training content
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. US citizenship is required as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Value:
  • Instructional Design and Computer Based Training development experience
  • Proficient to expert in industry standard tools used to create impactful courses, including a solid grasp of graphic and web design principles and a good understanding of current web technologies
  • Instructor experience for design and delivery of technical training.
  • Ability to develop briefings and present to medium to large scale audiences at all levels of business leadership
  • Experience developing and executing contract deliverables
  • Experience in Basis of Estimating (BOE) and proposal BOE development
  • Six Sigma certification
  • Knowledge of AGILE Development and implementation of Sprints
  • Experience improving operational user practices in support of Training and Technical Manual development
  • Ability to interpret Contract Documentation and MIl-STDs to develop budgetary estimates, program execution plans\\schedules and Risk \\ Opportunity
  • Experience with sustainment of major end items including integrated logistics support elements such as maintenance support planning to determine skills, manpower, tools, and test equipment.
  • Cost Account Management experience
  • Systems engineering experience including SME working knowledge in support of Technical Manual development and Training curriculum.
  • BOE Developer certification
