The Patents and Innovation Group at Wilson Sonsini has an opening for a patent agent with backgrounds in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, material sciences, electrical engineering, computer science, bioinformatics, AI and machine learning, digital health, bioengineering, or bio mechanical engineering. Previous law firm or industry experience is a plus. Responsibilities include working with the firm’s clients in all aspects of patent prosecution, including in evaluating invention disclosures, preparing and prosecuting patent applications, conducting landscape studies including analyzing third party patents. Our patent agents work in a collaborative environment with our patent attorneys and receive both formal and informal training and mentorship. The patent practice is a national practice that is fully integrated and agents work with team members across the department to serve our international clients.
