Job Description

The Robotics Branch of the Intelligent Sustainable Technologies Division is looking for masters students to work on various aspects of dexterous control of a robotic arm and small mobile platforms. These students should be able to work in a group setting to develop and implement various algorithms for robotic planning, vision, and control. Tasks will include items such as background research, programming, debugging, and testing.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Graduate Research Assistant

  • Pursuing an on-campus Masters degree or PhD at Georgia Tech in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or closely related field
  • Must be enrolled full-time (12+ credit hours)
  • Must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
  • Must commit to 15-20 hours of work per week
  • Must have experience in C or C++
  • Must have knowledge in robotic algorithms and techniques

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of control system theory and signal processing
  • Knowledge of adaptive filtering
  • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms
  • Experience with rigid body transformations and their numeric representations
  • Task / team leadership experience
  • Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts
  • Familiarity with Linux and open source tools
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (git in particular)
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas to non-technical personnel
