Description:This position is dependent upon contract award of the GBAD Program.
Lockheed Martin is seeking a RF Engineer for a position in Grand Prairie, TX to support the Emerging Programs Production Engineering team. Emerging Programs are a collection of programs ranging from ground based radar threat simulators, cruise missiles and short range air and missile defense products to name a few. They are in various phases of development where concepts are created, designs are evolving, advanced technologies tested and preparations are made to enter into production. The primary mission of this position is to ensure RF designs are producible (Design for Manufacture) in a full rate manufacturing environment and at a competitive cost (Design to Cost). Each program approaches these goals a little differently so flexibility is key. Frequent communication and collaboration with other disciplines including various Design Engineering groups, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Finance, Production Planning and Control, Contracts and Program Management are required. The successful candidate must posses detail knowledge of RF design including high frequency and microwave applications (receivers, transmitters, antennas and frequency synthesizers). Collaboration with other RF Engineers on hardware layout, component evaluation, prototype construction and test to meet manufacturing rates and cost is a must. The position can also involve working directly with our government customers, proposal estimating, manufacturing readiness assessments, creating manufacturing plans, make or buy analysis, presenting at various design and manufacturing reviews, travel to various manufacturing facilities including suppliers and other Lockheed sites and any other manufacturing or tooling related issues that may arise.
Basic Qualifications:
Ability to obtain a security clearance
Experience designing and manufacturing microelectronics, RF subassemblies and/or RF systems
Demonstrated effective communication skills including verbal, listening, technical writing and presentations
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve technical/process issues varying from basic to very complex
Ability to interpret drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product/performance specifications and other systems integration technical data
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
Ability to travel domestic and/or international
Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including team building, collaboration and developing enduring business relationships
Desired Skills:
Bachelors or higher degree in electrical engineering
Experience with development programs
Experience in design for manufacturing or design to cost
Ability to effectively present technical information to non technical people
Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
Experience working with Government customers
SAP Experience
