Job Description

The Sensing System Lab in Intel Labs is innovating in the next generation sensing, perception and control solutions for autonomous systems that are used in vehicles, industrial robotics as well as consumer devices. In this position, you will research and develop new, state-of-the-art deep learning algorithms for radar-based perception and optimize them for compute-efficient implementations. Requires knowledge and research experience on Deep Learning and 3D / 4D volumetric dynamic dataset.

You will be working on:

  • Design, implementation, training, and optimization of deep learning models for radar 3D / 4D datasets

  • Develop scalable toolchain to handle labeled dataset from simulated and field collected data for training deep learning-based perception and control algorithms

This is an entry level position and compensation will be given accordingly.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research, and relevant previous job and/or internship experience.

Minimal Qualifications:

The candidate must possess a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Physics.  Must have the required degree or expect the required degree by October 2022.

6+ months experience in below areas:

  • Deep learning, with relevant academic work (or) strong background in computer vision, machine perception, robotics vision etc.

  • Deep Learning frameworks, API services and libraries such as PyTorch, Tensorflow, Keras, OpenCV, etc.

  • 3D / 4D object detection, instance/semantic segmentation, image reconstruction, object tracking and prediction, particularly with radar, LIDAR and/or depth cameras (RGB-D) data

  • Programming skills in Python/Matlab/C++.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding basics of signal processing principles in radar systems, autonomous vehicle and robotics

  • Experience in OpenCL is a plus.

  • Experience with software / hardware system architecture design, co-optimization, distributed training on cloud platform
