The primary purpose of this position will be to undertake research in cyber security, engage in postgraduate and honours theses supervision, and support contract work and grant application development, industry research collaborations and other activities associated with the School and its Cyber Security Research Group. The research fellow will gain access to state-of-the-art industrial control systems equipment through the UQ Energy TestLab, and specific domain expertise through collaboration with healthcare and energy research groups at ITEE.

Our Ideal Candidate

Applicants should possess a PhD in the area of cyber security, computer science, software or electrical engineering, mechatronics, information technology, mathematics or applied cryptography.

You should have demonstrated expert knowledge in the area of cyber security, technical knowledge of critical infrastructures, industrial control systems, healthcare systems or applications of machine learning into cyber security research.  In addition you will have a strong track record of publications, demonstrated high-level written and oral communication skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, fixed term position for 3 years at Academic Research Level B.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $95,771  - $113,728 per annum plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $112,052 - $133,061.
