Come Join Intel! As part of the Ethernet Product Group (EPG) in Intel's Data Platforms Group (DPG) we are looking for a RDMA Architect with experience in RDMA technologies and large-scale ethernet based RDMA fabrics for its next-generation IPU and foundational NIC product lines.

As an RDMA architect, you will have an opportunity to work with and influence system architects including the development of next generation AI/ML optimized platforms. You will be responsible for system architecture and software interfacing concerns, as well as providing micro-architecture and implementation oversight for multiple product lines across multiple generations. They will also own the performance, power and area optimizations and scaling strategies for the relevant IPs across generations.


The chosen candidate will have strong focus on efficient hardware design, with broad system knowledge to tune hardware and software to achieve scalable and robust solutions. They will be capable of providing guidance for silicon design engineering as well as interfacing with software teams and customers.

In this role, your daily agenda will be anything but ordinary. On a regular basis, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing IP requirements based on customer and industry needs
  • Developing architecture specifications
  • Defining and documenting functional requirements and functional interfaces
  • Defining the system behavior of the IP as it interacts with chip-level components
  • Working closely to the software team to identify programming models and semantic
  • Pathfinding innovations in RDMA based technologies beyond industry standards and designing hardware to provide both capabilities


Candidates must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Requirements listed below would be obtained through a combination of Industry job relevant experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research


  • Bachelors degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of expertise in ethernet networking technologies and usages including IP networking
  • 5+ years of expertise in RDMA protocols including RoCE
  • 5+ years of expertise in high-speed ASIC design
  • 5+ years of expertise in RDMA software including IB verbs APIs, libfabrics and MPI


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters or Ph.D. Degree preferred
  • Expertise Background in cloud usages for RDMA such as storage
  • Expertise Background in HPC usages for RDMA including both classical big-iron HPC as well as AI/ML.
