The Whole Life Engineering Directorate (WLED) is made up of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer and end user.

The Reliability, Availability, Maintainability (RAM) & Failure Reporting, Analysis, Corrective Action System (FRACAS) Engineering Section is responsible for all aspects of RAM & FRACAS activity within the Raytheon Missiles & Defense business unit.

As a RAM / FRACAS Engineer, youll ensure performance compliance with regard to both customer and internal requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) Process
Working closely with team members on identifying root cause and corrective actions
Leading FRACAS Events Review Boards (FERBs) and Failure Investigations
Conducting data analysis and trending
Performing RAM trade-off analyses
Assessing RAM performance (MTBF, MTBCF, Ao)
Defining and allocating RAM requirements
Performing Reliability Predictions
Performing Failure Modes Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
Supporting Reliability Test Planning and Execution (Accelerated, Growth, Demonstration)
Providing support to proposals

This position can be a Salary Grade G09 or Salary Grade G10 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Required Skills:
  • 6+ years engineering experience
    • At a Grade G09, 4+ years of experience in the aforementioned areas along with a relevant Master's Degree may be considered for this job.
    • At a Grade G10, 6+ years of experience in the aforementioned areas along with a relevant Master's Degree may be considered for this job.
  • Experience in gathering, analyzing and/or presenting data
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Eligibility to obtain Secret Clearance
  • US Citizenship is required

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with reliability, availability and/or maintainability engineering
  • Experience assessing RAM performance of fielded equipment
  • Experience leading large teams and working in a cross functional team environment
  • Understanding of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and its implementation.
  • Experience using Windchill Quality Solutions suite of tools.
  • Experience with technical document and report generation
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Working knowledge of multiple support engineering disciplines
  • Excellent technical writing, oral communication, and inter-personal skills to achieve technical objectives

Required Education:
  • BS in a STEM discipline or BA in Mathematics, Computer Science or Physics
