About the Role: W. L. Gore is seeking a Quality Engineering Specialist to join our Performance Solutions Division in Newark, Delaware. This role requires a strong technical and analytical background coupled with excellent communication skills and an understanding of the aerospace industry contract review process. You will focus on creating and maintaining quality system policies, procedures, inspection/test plans and data collection and reporting techniques to demonstrate compliance to customer requirements.


- Participate in contract review including specification, PO and manufacturing reviews to ensure Quality and Technical customer requirements of contracts, specifications, drawings, purchase orders and amendments are clearly defined and understood
- Lead initiatives to develop, implement, and improve quality assurance systems to ensure timely and accurate flow down of customer requirements
- Review and approve drawings, specifications, and manufacturing operation documents to understand and translate engineering and system-level functional requirements into inspection requirements for inspectors
- Understand and interpret drawings, mil-specs and other industry standards in accordance with government and/or customer contract requirements and provide guidance to ensure compliance
- Support production readiness with input on control plans, detailed inspection plans, FMEA's, QA inspection and test plans to ensure and provide evidence that customer and product requirements are met
- Ensure operational risk management is planned and effective per AS9100 through the contract, specification, and PO review process. Initiating corrective action, if appropriate
- Provide support as needed for customer acceptance of Source Inspection and First Article Inspections (FAI)


Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Business
- A minimum of 3 years in a quality role
- A minimum of 3 years aerospace industry experience
- Knowledge and experience working with AS 9100, AS 9102 & ISO 9001
- Demonstrated ability to- understand and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documents
- ability to influence stakeholders across functions

Desired Qualifications:
- AS9100 Lead Auditor Certified
- Experience preparing FMEAs and Control Plans
- Experience developing inspection acceptance criteria based on customer requirements and Key & Critical Characteristics
- Technical writing skills to develop quality procedures / test plans and communicate effectiveness of quality system
- Experience with other aerospace industry standards (AS 9145 APQP, AS 9146 FOD, AS 5553 Counterfeit Materials)
