Job Description

This job req is for a Supplier Quality and Reliability Engineer (QRE) in the Global Supply Chain (GSC) organization, supporting SSC (System Supply Chain). This QRE will be responsible for the quality and reliability of customized and off-the-shelf Integrated Circuit (IC) components used in Intel's manufacturing network supporting products for business units including DPG, IOG, CCG, WCS, and internal tester manufacturing in SIMS. Although support will focus on ASICs and ICs, supplier QnR management will also extend to other electrical components, including Passives and Memory, depending on business needs.

As the Supplier Quality and Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for but not limited to: 


  • Supplier Quality and Reliability Systems management
  • Influencing component design and engineering.
  • Change management.
  • On-site supplier quality assessments
  • Component Qualification
  • Supplier outgoing quality control
  • Factory (outsourced) incoming quality control
  • Excursion management and continuous improvement, 
  • Partnering with SSC supply chain engineers. 
  • Work with the Intel business unit, technology development, and product QnR teams to understand and finalize product requirements. 
  • Work schedule flexibility to support internal and supplier meetings across multiple time zones

  • Travel will be required twice per year. For about three weeks during each trip, mostly Domestic. Required to conduct on-site supplier quality assessments or excursion response audits


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research and relevant previous job and/or internship experience. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The candidate must possess a Master's or Ph.D. degree, in  Engineering, Physics or a related field of study
  • Minimum 3 months of electrical engineering or materials science experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Component technology development
  • Experience with component, boards or systems manufacturing. 
  • Experience in: Quality and Reliability and/or Advanced Quality Management system skills
