We are recruiting a dynamic, energetic and motivated individual to join the Infrastructure Services Business Operations - Global Purchasing Operations (GPOPs) team.

The Purchasing Operations Vendor Management team is responsible for approximately 80% of Apple Data Center hardware operational management and fulfillment operations within Infrastructure Services. The team is responsible for driving execution of the order process, maintaining precision throughout DC operations, and data integrity within central databases. Senior Vendor Management Analysts ensure Apple infrastructure purchase requisitions are initiated promptly and with precision to target on-time delivery to deployment needs. Cross-functional engagements with teams such as logistics and finance are critical to ongoing GPOPs performance. Senior Vendor Management Analysts are responsible for the on time delivery and fulfillment of orders to support the continual growth and performance of Apple's growing infrastructure and services businesses. This team works collaboratively with multi-functional teams to secure operational excellence across the regions, use insight and analytics to improve the supply chain process and develop innovative fulfillment strategies.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience managing or working effectively with 2nd tier suppliers
  • Passion for operations or relevant experience with multiple procurement roles and policies
  • Experience working with off-shore manufacturers managing Clear to Build (CTB) timelines to critical deadlines
  • Ability to apply analytical thinking and process to multiple areas of supply chain and manufacturing.
  • Familiar with the components and structure of a server or similar product a plus
  • Data center, technical and OEM management experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of corporate ERP systems and process, SAP background preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing, process engineering or product development
  • Comfortable working autonomously and with remote leadership
  • Strong interpersonal skills with clear, concise, written, and verbal communication
  • Capable of maintaining a high level of detail while running multiple work-streams


Monitor market conditions with Global Supply Management (GSM) support and advise upstream planning of lead time and material risk to server manufacturing build schedules. Manages commodity vendor engagements to plan vital safety stock to accommodate for any demand spikes or fluctuation. This person will apply data analysis and process mapping to drive the optimal fulfillment activities from order induction through delivery and EOL support.

In addition, as a Purchasing Operations Commodity Material Program Manager, you will:

Assess and mitigate risks to the business. Manage global supply chain disruptions in real time with the support of an international team.

In conjunction with Hardware Engineering and GSM teams, develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for phase-out of obsolete parts and part replacement qualification in order to sustain production.

Work with planning and Hardware Engineering teams to develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for phase-out of obsolete parts and fleet sustainability in order to sustain production and data center fleet uptime.

Align with GSM, Finance and leadership to gauge and monitor reduce purchase price variance (PPV) and/or optimize market sourcing strategies.

Collaborate across the Apple organization to ensure business objectives are met. Includes the ability to rapidly synthesize and communicate findings to senior leaders and to actively identify potential supply issues that can affect product strategy.

Manage the correlation of data inputs to the acquisition of assets into internal database tools.

Develop written plans, policies, and procedures to document processes to support the purchasing of assets.

Influence our procurement signal by working cross functionally to drive for a responsive supply chain that is optimized for lowest costs, greater operational flexibility, regional fulfillment and highest quality of delivery.

Participate with internal business expansion and automation projects. Act as a key shareholder in developing automated solutions and testing that these solutions are fit for purpose.

Optimize global supply chain performance through cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking. Develop an in-depth understanding of improved manufacturing processes and costs, reverse logistics, and market intelligence, and apply this knowledge to influence Apple's future product roadmap and sourcing decisions.

Manage inbound inquiries and lead multi-functional communication.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years in Supply Chain, MPM, Vendor Management or related work experience
