The Raytheon Missiles and Defense, Electrical Product Team is looking for Electrical Engineers responsible for developing, integrating, and demonstrating research based and proof of concept designs.
We are seeking experienced electrical engineers with a knowledge of pulse power systems. This job requires a knowledge pulse power topologies including switched artificial transmission line pulsers, Blumleins, MARX, XRAM, Mosfet based modulators, Switch Controlled Rectifiers (SCR) and snubber circuits. This job requires the ability and willingness to work with high voltage and high current systems. Responsibilities include leading and working closely with a team of engineers to develop and test designs based on system performance and operational specifications. The ideal candidate possesses a combination of design experience, and hands-on laboratory skills.
The successful candidate will develop technical solutions to difficult problems related to the design, integration and test of electrical subsystems that will be integrated into directed energy products. The candidate will work under limited supervision while determining and developing independent solutions to meet overall design objectives. This position requires frequent interaction and coordination with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, scientists, external customers, and a wide variety of support staff. Using a variety of software tools and electrical test equipment, the candidate will be responsible for stages of electrical design that span the full range of the design process. The candidate will be expected to generate concepts, develop designs, test prototypes, and integrate subsystems into larger directed energy systems.
Up to 50% travel may be required.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
Applicants may be considered for the Sr. Pulse Power II (G09) or Principal Pulse Power Engineer (G10) position based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and position responsibilities.
Location: Tucson, AZ. Up to 50% travel may be required.
