Job Description

The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) Aerospace, Transportation and Advanced Systems (ATAS) Lab is seeking a Project Coordinator to provide support to DoD-funded engineering projects in Phoenix, AZ. The successful candidate will be able to provide project management support to a fifteen to twenty (15-20) member team of multi-disciplinary engineers and scientists to achieve project objectives and milestones. This role allows for a desirable work/life balance with few extra hours worked when necessary. This is an opportunity to grow and extend an existing funded program. Job Duties

Responsibilities include managing and forecasting cost and technical schedules, initiating and maintaining a direct interface with the
customer through the project director, managing earned value requirement, managing subcontractors, and maintaining risk register.
Daily tasks consist of 75% program management support and 25% sponsor interface. A successful candidate will be able to develop or
contribute to the management portion of research and development proposals. The candidate must be resourceful, take initiative, and
manage autonomy with expectations. This position requires excellent communication skills in order to effectively coordinate project team objectives and communicate with project team members.

Education & Length of Experience

Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist/Associate I

  • A Bachelor's degree in STEM, Business, Business Management, or a related field of study.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years working in a direct support role on a DoD sponsored project
  • 5+ years program management or program management support experience
  • Experienced in Microsoft Project (MS Project)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Secret Clearance
  • Project leadership experience
  • Ability to clearly communicate to a diverse workforce

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
