Weekly Hours: 40

Role Number: 200117471

At Apple, we're a diverse collection of thinkers and doers, continually reimagining our products, systems, and practices to help people do what they love in new ways. This is a deeply reciprocal place, where everything we build is the result of people in different roles and teams working together to make each other's ideas stronger.

Apple University (AU) seeks to develop understanding, conversation, and critical thinking about Apple's culture, organization, values, and role in the world in ways that enlighten, inspire, and build community among all Apple employees

AU is looking for a program manager in Apple University to work with a variety of roles inside and outside of the team to help create impact for University "products" across the company

Key Qualifications

  • Validated project management and leadership experience in working with vendors or in human resources
  • High level of interest in education and development
  • Significant experience in collaborative, cross-functional environments - an ability to manage many "cooks in the kitchen."
  • Clear record of successful engagement with executives, subject matter experts and business partners, including People team members
  • Ability to broker the demands of multiple teams and integrate the right feedback into the approach
  • Comfort with data and analysis, including an ability to create and navigate spreadsheets
  • Ability to effectively manage a project schedule for multiple projects at once and deliver work on time and in scope
  • Experience creating evaluative criteria for programs, coupled with a passion to interpret results and articulate decisions persuasively
  • Strong content sensibility, and a familiarity with or interest in the creative process
  • While this role will not be responsible for content creation, strong writing and editing skills in service of communication efforts and a comfort with presenting to large groups is required

This specific role will support and guide our emerging "development partner" products. These are curriculum and resources created outside of Apple University that are integrated into our existing programs.

Evangelism: As a substantial new offering both within the University and to people throughout the company, communication and socialization of the programs will be of critical importance. The role will require the relationship skills to broker a successful launch of the program, as well as socialize consistently what these products are, how they may be accessed, and how they fit with other University efforts. It will demand the sensibility and skill to tell the "story" of partner products in a clear and compelling way.

Collaboration: You will collaborate with both internal and external partners. You will need strong negotiating skills, especially when balancing the needs of Apple with those of our partners. Candidates should be savvy at building relationships with new partners; introducing new ideas to established partners; brokering solutions and seeking win-win outcomes.

Customer Focus: The right person for this role needs to be obsessed with the customer experience of the Partner Programs. They must find a way to assess the service levels generally, but more importantly, spend time developing a meaningful way to evaluate the impact programs are having on students and on business goals. This will require a taste function; an ability to work with others across the University; a curiosity about the business and its needs; and an interest in creative thinking in the measurement and reporting. It will also involve determining criteria for evaluating partners on an annualized basis and ensuring quality standards are continuously met

Project management: At the end of the day, the person in this role also has to be organized and systematic. They should be able to operationalize any programs and coordinate the multiple team efforts required to deliver the products to users. This will involve coordinating with various teams within the University, including Programs, Operations, Reporting, Faculty and Production. A commitment to informing both internally and externally to multiple stakeholders will be essential work
