Role Number:200236025
Apple University seeks to foster understanding, conversation, and critical thinking about Apple's culture, organization, values, and role in the world in ways that enlighten, inspire, and build community among all Apple employees. We are a university within an innovative company with a unique purpose. Our team of faculty and producers build and teach original content about Apple to Apple employees around the world.
Our faculty is a mix of academics with deep expertise in their respective disciplines, and people who previously held leadership roles across Apple and were drawn to teach. Our in-house production team consists of content creators, production, and operation teams who write original class content; design and produce our materials and tools; curate global audiences for participation; and care for the participant and faculty experience of our virtual and in-person sessions.
THE PROGRAM TEAM
This role would join the Program Team at Apple University, a four-person group within the greater production team which helps produce and oversee three main AU program groups. Through our close connection with participants and business leaders and our own observations of Apple, we identify needs in our curriculum and program plans. We design the strategy to reach audiences with each program. We act as producers creating content ourselves or in close partnership with others. We guide projects through their final iterations and pilots. We then act as marketers, creating the story and plan to make them available to Apple employees.
Each of us has responsibilities on two different axes: we're each responsible for a deep vertical, i.e., wholly driving one or more AU programs belonging to one or more audience categories. We also have a horizontal specialty, contributing an expertise that cuts across programs, i.e. writing marketing copy for all of our programs on our website. This dynamic contributes to a team atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration and results in consistent, integrated products.
IMPORTANT DIRECTIONS TO APPLY:
To apply for this role, please submit both your resume and a cover letter telling us why you want to contribute to Apple in this role. Please also address the following question in your cover letter: What would a world-class virtual learning experience have to consider?
Key Qualifications
This role's vertical focus in program management will be in two audience categories: "New to Apple" and "Teams." This role will fully own the category of "new to Apple," by leading an existing AU program for new employees. The role will be a conduit to external partners who own the new hire experience for Apple, and over time there may be an opportunity to build new AU products for new employees.
This role will assist in building products for the Teams audience, designing virtual events and asynchronous learning tools that teams across Apple can use.
This role's horizontal focus will be to contribute expertise in some aspect of production which can influence the virtual learning experiences across all AU programs. This may include evolving our current online classroom format; building out new asynchronous learning formats and venues; and collaborating with others within AU to design the program approach for a new classroom broadcast studio.
As a production expert, you'll bring innovative thinking, industry knowledge and fresh ideas to shape all of our virtual learning products and programs. You'll create an integrated look and feel across our digital products and consolidate the efforts of multiple team members building products for other audience categories.
WE SEEK SOMEONE WHO CAN:
Obsess about the experience of a new Apple employee. Apple University hosts a marquee experience for all new employees; there's room to develop even more products and experiences that can support a new employee in their first year at Apple.
Develop new asynchronous learning formats that are innovative and transformative. We've developed apps, we've done some podcasts and we have some self-guided resources on our site, but our aspirations exceed our skills. We want a creative thinker with industry experience who can bring new ideas.
Help our team initiate a new classroom studio at our University campus with state-of-the-art technology and elevate our online teaching to another level of engagement and excitement. We want someone who has the expertise to weigh in on many elements of this project. You'll collaborate with others on our team who are selecting the technology and building the setup. You'll own designing an engaging participant experience. You'll advise our team how best to leverage this new venue programmatically. You'll plan a multi-layered audience strategy. You'll also support its adoption and ongoing use by faculty and staff.
