Job Summary:
The Naval Power Business Office has an immediate Financial Analyst opportunity to provide support for Naval Standard Missile Systems Advanced Development efforts. The Advanced Programs team is part of the NSMS Portfolio, which includes SM-6 and SM-2 Production, with yearly Sales of approximately $1B per year with a secure and stable long term business forecast.

The ideal individual for this job will be an excellent communicator with a desire to learn and be challenged, the ability to work on a variety of tasks, and the ability to interact with a variety of management levels and customer counterparts. This position will provide an opportunity to enhance skills in PRISM, estimates at completion, variance analyses, and other metrics and tools used in support of development and sustainment projects. Finance serves as a critical business partner by providing the analysis, insight and guidance to enable strategic decision making and achieve bottom-line results. Top candidates will raise the performance levels of those they work with by leveraging their previous experiences to complete challenging and complex assignments in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  1. Management of full Earned Value Development programs, analysis of program performance, utilization of PRISM tools, assisting with the establishment of initial baseline for new awards, monthly forecasting, tracking variances, interfacing with Cost Account Managers and the Leadership Team, and ensuring compliance with EAC policies.
  2. The focus of this position will be the support of development awards and IDIQ task orders.
  3. In addition, other tasks include working with bookings/backlog, maintaining monthly RPLAN forecasts and maintenance of contract modifications.

An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience as follows: Master's is equal to 2 years of experience or a Ph.D. is equal to 4 years of experience.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or related
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in related finance role
  • Experience with Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas)
  • Experience using financial software systems
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:

  • Experience using SAP Business Systems software
  • Experience in providing business support for contract activities, utilizing cost/schedule performance measurement systems (Earned Value Management System)
  • Understanding of Earned Value Management principles and processes including CPR development
  • Work experience in a production-oriented business
  • Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • MPM, APEX EV and wlnsight and other EVM tools
