The Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Information Technology is seeking to appoint a

Professor of Electric Energy Storage Systems for Application in Smart Grids and Electromobility
at pay grade W 2, as of March 2020


Qualifications / Responsibilities:

The successful applicant shall take responsibility for the field of electric energy storage systems and

coordinate the education courses in the field of electrical and electronics engineering. Experience in

theoretical methods and practical application are essential to convey the current state of research and technology to undergraduate and graduate students. Additionally, the applicant shall be suited to composing and guiding competitive teams in the field of applied science to represent the university in the research area of smart grids and electromobility.

In detail, the candidate should demonstrate acknowledged expertise in the areas of: 

  • theory and application of electrical energy storage systems
  • interaction between electrical storage systems and power grids
  • integration of electric vehicles into power grids

A positive disposition to conduct lectures in fundamental courses or in related areas is required.

Interdisciplinary cooperation with colleagues, also from different Faculties, in public or externally funded research projects is highly desirable. The candidate should have very good English language proficiency so that lectures can be delivered in English.

The successful applicant will engage in the academic self-administration of the Faculty and the university.
