The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University and the School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering seek applicants for an engineering tenure-track or tenured faculty position with specific interest in quantum information processing. Appointments may be at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank commensurate with the candidate’s experience and accomplishments, beginning August 2021. While the tenure home may be in any of the schools within the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, the School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering is currently the most involved in the interest areas of this search. Successful candidates will be encouraged to expand expertise and collaborations in these areas.
Areas of interest include theory, algorithms and technologies for quantum information processing, quantum computing, and quantum communications. Applicants with application interests in defense and security are encouraged to apply.Collaborations across the Schools of Engineering and the University are strongly encouraged. The originality and potential impact of each candidate’s work are higher priorities than the specific area of research.
We seek applicants who will contribute to our academic programs, promote transdisciplinary teaching and research, and help the University to achieve its aspirations, including enabling student success, transforming society, valuing entrepreneurship and conducting use-inspired research. Faculty members in the Fulton Schools are expected to develop an internationally recognized and externally funded research program, adopt effective pedagogical practices in the development and delivery of graduate and undergraduate courses, advise both undergraduate and graduate student research and projects and undertake service activities.
