Job Description

Information and Cyber Sciences (ICSD) is composed of the Cybersecurity, Information Protection, and Hardware Evaluation Research Laboratory (CIPHER) and Information and Communications Laboratory (ICL). The Professional Education division of ICSD works collaboratively with Georgia Tech Professional Education to offer public and private short courses, geared toward working professionals and taught by GTRI research scientists and engineers. The majority of the courses we offer are cybersecurity-focused and allow students to earn a Cybersecurity Certificate.

ICSD Professional Education seeks student assistants for fall 2021. These students will be members of our short course support team. Students working for us will perform the host role in our virtual courses, help prepare and upload course materials to Canvas, and perform various administrative tasks as needed. Students will gain experience with public speaking, virtual course facilitation, and administrative project support.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Student Assistant/Research Assistant

Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, and other related disciplines
Must be registered for at least 6 credit hours with your university
2.0 or higher cumulative GPA

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; public speaking experience is a plus
Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint
Ability to collaborate and work as a team with others
Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations

Hours per Week

20 hours per week

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
