Raytheon Missiles & Defense Louisville Facility (RLF) specializes in Manufacturing, Remanufacturing and Depot capabilities for Large Systems. The facility is a multi-product facility that specializes in teardown, refurbishment, assembly (both remanufactured and new), test and final preparation of weapon systems and subsystems including circuit card repair and test.


Job Summary:

This position will be tasked with planning, implementation, and monitoring of standard production processes such as machining, automated circuit card assembly washing, conformal coating processes, laser cutting/marking, hot air solder rework, wave soldering, manual soldering assembly, manual soldering rework, assembly, and material handling. Position is for first shift; however, the manufacturing environment can operate multiple shifts including some weekend work so candidate must be capable of working this schedule. Position may require occasional travel (5%).

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Planning of new processes including the identification of the required equipment and implementation into production.
  • Creation and programming of custom profiles on the equipment.
  • Creation and maintenance of process instructions.
  • Troubleshooting downed process equipment
  • Inspect performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigate or initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
  • Develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control
  • Provide guidance to Engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Provide classroom and hands-on instruction to the shop floor assemblers for standard production processes
This position can be a Process Equipment Technician or a Sr. Process Equipment Technician, based on the candidates qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and requirements for the position:

Qualifications You Must Have:

Process Equipment Technician
  • Bachelors degree or additional 2 years of relatable experience may be substituted for each 1 year of college.
  • 2 years of related experience within a manufacturing environment focused on safety, quality, schedule and cost
  • Experience with hands-on hardware integration, troubleshooting, or manufacturing experience
  • Experience with hand soldering
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a secret clearance.
Sr. Process Equipment Technician
  • Bachelors degree or additional 2 years of relatable experience may be substituted for each 1 year of college or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years experience
  • 5 years of related experience within a manufacturing environment focused on safety, quality, schedule and cost
  • Experience with hands-on hardware integration, troubleshooting, or manufacturing experience
  • Experience with hand soldering
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a secret clearance.
Qualifications We Value:
  • Past or Present IPC J-STD-001 certification and IPC-7711/7721 certification
  • Verifiable experience in planning, implementation, and monitoring of standard production processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working closely with production or process equipment operators, line leads, supervisors, and other technical disciplines to assist operations by maintaining the effectiveness and reliability of production lines
  • Must have the ability to develop solutions to routine and complex technical problems
  • Must be capable of interacting with a group of multi-disciplined engineers
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications
