Principal Training and Technical Manual Lead

The Whole Life Engineering Directorate (WLED) is made up of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer and end user.

The AN/TPY-2 Consolidated Logistics Support (CLS) program seeks a Principal Training and Technical Manual Lead.

Responsibilities may include the following:
Develop and adjust training and Technical Manual Schedules
Review generated material, determine required subject matter expert inputs and interpret engineering technical data
Provide technical and programmatic oversight to a subcontractor or remote Raytheon Technologies business partner for the development of training material, development of technical manuals, and/or conduct of training
Coordinate access to all system resources for the CLS Training and TM team members
Monitor status of other program deliverables for which training and TMs are dependent on source materials
Provide productivity and status input to Monthly Operating Reviews and Metric Collection
Ensure regular communications flows between the program office, the core execution team, WLED, and training developers, technical manual developers, and/or the training conduct team
Ensure costs are within budget and schedule
Oversight of a team of training coordinators


Periodic domestic and international travel, up to 30% (post-pandemic)


This position requires the eligibility to obtain a US DoD Secret security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.


This position can be a Salary Grade G09 or a Salary Grade G10 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.


Required Skills
6+ years experience conducting training or developing training materials in a military or civilian environment
o 4+ years of experience in the aforementioned areas for a grade G09 along with a relevant Master's Degree may be considered for this job.
o 6+ years of experience in the aforementioned areas for a grade G10 along with a relevant Master's Degree may be considered for this job.
Experience providing productivity and status input for purposes of metric collection
Team leadership experience
US Citizenship is required

Desired Skills:
Knowledge of product life cycle management.
Technical leadership experience and leading other team members during problem resolution
Experience with presentations
Experience with data analysis
Six Sigma certification
Participation in proposal processes to develop and review cost estimates/proposals packages.
Budget management experience and understanding of Earned Value fundamentals.
Prior Military experience


Required Education
Bachelor's degree. 8+ years of relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors degree.
