Job Summary:

The Principal Specialist Role under the Digital Technology (DT) Workplace Services (DWS) will have the following responsibilities:
  • Act as lead for Software Asset Information Management responsibilities
  • Define data fields and attributes for IT Software information requirements
  • Audit the integrity of maintained asset data, report findings to management, and facilitate the remediation of any discovered issues
  • Define asset information management processes and governance for Software
  • Monitor and/or support software audits
  • Define software asset reporting requirements
  • Recommend cost optimization opportunities
  • Manage lifecycle data of all assigned software assets.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software frameworks to support strategic direction
  • Participate in special projects to mitigate risks or realize opportunities
  • Collaborate with other businesses on best practices
  • Supports IT Asset Management Center of Excellence initiatives
  • Provides subject matter expertise and advice to stakeholders when solicited
  • Keeps abreast of new tools, techniques and industry best practices and works to incorporate them into the organization when possible
  • Enables the monitoring and reporting of asset information to appropriate leadership
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience; OR minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a Bachelors Degree
  • Experience in software licensing models and industry best practices for efficient software lifecycle management
  • Previous work experience in coordinating and managing licensing compliance risks, issues, and changes
  • Experience in practical application of hardware and/or software compliance regulations to entitlement management, departmental processes, etc.
  • Direct work experience working with hardware and/or software information management tools
  • Experience in application of Information Technology both hardware and software

  • Experience with SAP, Eracent, ServiceNow, and/or System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  • IAITAM or similar certification
  • Experience with internal RMD DT services
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in supporting asset information management requirements
  • Project management experience
