The RMD DT Digital Business Infrastructure (DBI) team delivers shared infrastructure solutions and services to enable the transformation of the RMD business. These capabilities include Enterprise Common Classified networks, as well as on premise, hybrid, and commercial cloud & DevOps infrastructure development, deployment, and sustainment. Additionally, the DBI team enables business transformation through factory / operational technology service integration and modernization and Engineering lab standardization and cyber hardening.

As a Cloud Systems Administrator in our Program Resource Center (PRC) team youll be part of a highly skilled group, delivering cutting edge IT/DT solutions, while supporting a prestige hosting service.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

In this role, your responsibilities will include:
  • Work with internal research and development leads on assessing their compute and storage needs, and provision services for them using the latest in technology
  • Develop standard server images and maintain them for patches and updates
  • Cyber-security vulnerability remediation and system hardening
  • Create and deploy virtual machines for our critical strategic initiatives
  • Maintain a Hyper-converged infrastructure providing record beating standup times
  • Research new infrastructure technology trends, assessing their utility deployment within the Program Resource Center or Cloud.
  • Assist in managing public cloud resources, including administration of cloud costs and utilization
  • Manage and triage support requests through ticketing system.

This role is based in Tewksbury, MA (primary) with occasional travel our Andover, MA location. If necessary, relocation is available to the selected applicant if they are qualified per company policy.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors Degree in STEM or Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Mathematics or a Technical Discipline; or 10 years of relevant work experience in a related field in lieu of a Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum of 5+ years experience in systems engineering or systems administration
  • Experience in working with computer operating systems including Windows, Unix and Linux
  • Experience and knowledge on fundamental networking/distributed computing environment and TCP/IP concepts
  • Experience in cloud enabling technologies (Hyper-converged systems, virtualization, automation, scripting, compute, storage, encryption, cyber security, etc.)
  • Previous work experience and knowledge on cyber-security vulnerability remediation and system hardening
  • Security+ certification or willingness to obtain one within 6 months of employment
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:
  • Experience with public Cloud implementations, e.g. AWS, Azure, etc.
  • Familiarity with Hyper-converged infrastructure, such as Nutanix
  • Understanding of physical and virtualized storage (e.g. VSAN) and networking
  • Scripting/automation - 2+ years experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, etc.
  • Proven success working within a large multi-disciplined teams
  • IT Security compliance process based on the Risk Management Framework with familiarity with DoD security configuration requirements, hardening procedures and settings.
  • Innovative and strategic approach to problem solving
  • Solid interpersonal skills, ability to debate, dialogue, negotiate, influence and work with others collaboratively and constructively
  • Self-motivated; ability to work independently
  • Ability to work multiple projects/programs simultaneously with strong organizational skills
