Job Summary:
The Principal Security Specialist will support the Naval Air Missiles Product Area Directorate within the Naval Power Mission Area. This professional has security decision authority for their area of responsibility and acts as a business facilitator while ensuring security compliance. Supporting within a matrixed organization, the incumbent must effectively engage with various levels of internal and external stakeholders while providing security guidance to program effectiveness. This position will report directly to the Naval Power Mission Area Security Business Partner.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Support Security efforts in program execution while ensuring compliance with specified government directives (NISPOM, DAAPM, DOD policies).
  • Develop, prepare and implement local Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Operations Security (OPSEC) Plans and test plans.
  • Provide security oversight and management to subcontractors and subordinate business units via the DD Form 254 or other contractual methods.
  • Identify, mitigate and resolve highly complex security issues directly with internal teammates, the government customer and/or subcontractors.
  • Review contractual documents (Statement of Work, Basic Contract) and government directives for security applicability, impact analysis, and recommendations throughout the entire life cycle of the program.
  • Support various compliance aspects of Program Execution to include, classification management, OPSEC, and threat awareness training.
  • Ability to analyze and brief senior leadership regarding security considerations related to Program Area impacts.
  • Support Mission Areas Security team and special projects as determined by security management and the needs of the business
A valid drivers license is required.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field.
  • 5 years of directly related experience - (Industrial Security, Information Assurance/Cyber, Special Programs, military or government Security Management).
  • An active and in-scope Secret US security clearance.
  • Working knowledge of the NISPOM.
  • General awareness of the DAAPM/Risk Management Framework.
  • Capable to support contract proposals and generate security requirements.
  • Experience in writing and developing formal security plans to include operational security plans, transportation plans and/or directives.
  • U.S Citizenship is required.
Qualifications We Value:
  • Masters Degree in related field
  • An active and in-scope Top Secret US security clearance.
  • ISP, SFPC, or other security-related certification.
  • Experience with any of the following: Direct Commercial Sale Contracts, Foreign Military Sales, ITAR and export control procedures.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience with and ability to travel throughout the United States and Outside of the Continental United States.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced multi-program environment.
  • Experience with Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for existing work and contract bids.
  • Self-starter requiring limited direction with the ability to work effectively.
  • Available to work flexible or extended hours during surge periods.

Clearance Information: This position requires a Secret security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
