Job Description:
The selected individual will be responsible for the adherence to all aspects of the SAP & SCI Security Compliance Program as stipulated by DoD 5205.07 and other program security directives. The individual will work under the guidance and direction of the Tewksbury Security Manager for Special Programs.

Special Access Program (SAP) Security personnel interface with customers and the government on security requirements for special programs as well as providing guidance and support to employees working on such activities.

The Principal Security Specialist must have a strong working knowledge of the Special Program Security Core Functional Areas such as Security Management, Personnel Security, Accountability, Information Security, Physical Security, Access Control, Transmission, Security Education, Contracting, and Guard Force responsibilities.

Additional assignments include document & media control, data transfers, visitor control, maintaining security files, handling & processing classified documents, and other security support activities as assigned by the Special Programs Security Manager. The Principal Security Specialist is expected to prepare and conduct Program Security Awareness Briefings, develop security plans, goals, and objectives to comply with existing directives and future requirements. Additionally, the Principal Security Specialist will brief & indoctrinate program personnel on the proper application of security procedures, interpret and provide classification guidance to employees, participate in self-inspections as well as customer reviews, and investigate security incidents. Furthermore, the Principal Security Specialist will support other security related tasks as assigned by the Special Programs Security Manager.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Administering the security procedures (NISPOM, DoDM 5205.07 series, Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705, and JSIG), as they relate to operating in a classified environment for: personnel processing, media control, marking and control of documents / materials, security education, visitor control, destruction of classified.
  • Develop, prepare, and implement local Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Operations Security (OPSEC) Plans, and proprietary test plans utilizing risk management principles.
  • Implement a media control program in accordance with JSIG requirements.
  • Provide security oversight and management to subcontractors and subordinate business units via the DD Form 254 or other contractual methods.
  • Establish, gain accreditation, and maintain a secure facility in accordance with (IAW) ICD 705.
  • Establish and oversee specialized procedures for the transmission of classified and/or proprietary material/information.
  • Establish and maintain a visitor control program.
  • Conduct and/or participate in internal reviews and/or Government inspections.
  • Investigate security infractions/violations and prepare reports specifying the potential for loss or compromise and the associated risk to the program(s).
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors degree or additional 2 years of (Security) experience may be substituted for each 1 year of college
  • 5 years of Security experience, 13 years of Security experience without a degree.
  • Working knowledge of the DoD Manual 5205.07 Vols. 1- 4
  • Familiarity of Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) manuals and other applicable Government directives, with emphasis on ICD705
  • General awareness of the JSIG/Risk Management Framework.
  • Capable to support contract proposals and generate Security Volume requirements.
  • Experience with self-assessments and formal customer inspections.
  • A valid drivers license.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • An active and in-scope Top Secret US security clearance

  • Experience with Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for existing work and contract bids
  • Self-starter requiring limited direction with the ability to work effectively
  • Available to work flexible or extended hours during surge periods that may require related travel (proposals, hand carry, etc.)

Clearance Information:
This position requires a Top Secret security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
