The focus of this role is to architect and design the DFX (Design for Debug, Design for Test, Design for Manufacturing) features for Intel's next-generation CPU Core IP. This core is a clean-slate design; you will have wide leeway to define methodology from scratch, to be as industry-standard and portable as possible, while enabling Debug and Test of a high-performance CPU Core. You will be responsible for defining the features, defining the Tools/Flows/Methods used to implement those features, coding System Verilog modules for the features, and working across the Design Team to integrate, validate and (in post-Silicon) use the features.

Role responsibilities include although not limited to:
* Owning the technical definition of Design for Debug and Design for Test (DFX) features in a future-generation core; delivering an industry-leading feature set.
* Defining and developing the chip-wide Tools/Flows/Methods required to implement those DFX features as seamlessly as possible in the larger design.
* Designing global infrastructure and modules of the features in System Verilog, for integration into the larger design.
* Working with designers to implement the features across all boxes/clusters/units of the design.
^ Working with the pre-Silicon validation team to ensure full validation of the features across all hierarchies of the design.
* Working with the post-Silicon teams, to ensure optimal post-Silicon verification and use of the features, to debug and test the design.


Qualifications

Qualifications
Bachelor's, Masters or PhD degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 10 years' industry experience in VLSI design, from RTL definition through post-Silicon work. Strong experience or expertise in Debug and Test feature definition, implementation, and/or post-silicon usage.

Preferred Experience:
* Familiarity with high-performance CPU design tools/flows/methods.
* Familiarity with System Verilog or equivalent RTL description language.
* Familiarity with Debug features and strategies for high-performance CPU's.
* Familiarity with Test features and strategies for high-performance CPU's.
* Excellent understanding of technical and business impacts of feature, tools, flows and methods design choices - across all of power, area, performance, effort, test, and debug impact.
