The Mechanical Products Team (MPT) is responsible for mechanical design, analysis, and test of all sensor and effector products across the RMD portfolio. The Mechanical Product Team uses state-of-the-art tools, processes, technology, and Raytheon Six Sigma principles.

The Configuration and Data Management (CDM) organization is responsible for ensuring our products are under configuration control and delivered on time. The CDM Organization consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers. Disciplines in the CDM organization participate in the life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation. The CDM organization is comprised of Effector CM (ECM), Data Management (DM/DEX), Software Configuration Management (SWCM), and Sensor CM (SCM).

The Data Management, Engineering Support and Execution (DEX) department is looking for an individual to perform the role of Principal Data Manager (DM).

This position is located in either Huntsville, AL, Marlboro MA, Tewksbury, MA, Andover, MA, or Portsmouth RI

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

The Principal Data Manager identifies all data deliverables made part of a contract and subsequently builds a data track in a Product Data Management (PDM) system. The DM identifies, with help from the Program Office, the appropriate preparers, receives the data within PDM, reviews the data for compliance, solicits and secures appropriate programmatic approval and delivers the information to the customer on time, throughout the lifecycle of the contract.

In addition, Data Managers are responsible for reviewing sub-tier contractor requirements, building data tracks for supplier submissions, receiving data from various suppliers, and routing for approval and/or incorporation into prime contractor deliverables to the customer as well as securing non-deliverable program work products to be configuration controlled in the PDM system and other related tasking.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business or related field. An additional 2 years of related experience may be substituted for each 1 year of college
  • 6 years of professional experience
  • Experience with government standards and processes, such as described in EIA-649,
  • Configuration Management Standard and GEIA-859, Data Management
  • Ability to interpret scheduling and milestone requirements
  • Experience with Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Value:
  • 6+ years of Configuration / Data Management experience
  • Working knowledge of Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI)
  • Strong business acumen including planning, forecasting, analytical skills and ability to negotiate and influence
  • Can work in a team-based environment consisting of organizational and outside customer contacts to meet project goals.
  • Sense of urgency; ability to meet challenging deadlines, and attention to detail
  • Strong skills in interpersonal communications, relationship building, and in collaborating on cross-functional teams comprised of diverse personalities and skill sets
  • Experience with generating Data Management productivity metrics and reports
  • Experience with estimating, proposing and managing Data Management cost and schedule on a program
  • Experienced in Windchill or similar product data management (PDM) tools
  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) certification, with relevant experience
  • Active DOD clearance
