Job Summary:

Whole Life Engineering is seeking a Principal Technical Training Specialist based out of Tewksbury, MA

As a Principal Technical Training Specialist, youll hold a lead role on a team that is engaged in developing training materials and conducting training for all areas of the Whole Life Engineering Directorate.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

In this role, youll be responsible for the following:
  • Providing technical and programmatic oversight to subcontractors or remote Raytheon business partners for the development of training materials and technical manuals
  • Overseeing the conduct of training, ensuring instructors are qualified
  • Developing training plans
  • Representing assigned engineering functions within the Patriot Core Execution Team at program meetings, updates and reviews
  • Maintaining a control account plan and reporting earned value for all technical manual and training related activities and ensuring control account alignment with the integrated master schedule, making updates as necessary
  • Driving the Risk & Opportunity processes
  • Reviewing and interpreting engineering technical data. Soliciting subject matter expert input
  • Ensuring regular communication flows between the program office, the core execution team, WLE and training developers, technical manual developers, and/or the training conduct team
Periodic domestic and international travel, up to 20%

An Advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience may be considered for this role.


Qualifications You Must Have:
Education: : Bachelor's degree OR 8+ years of relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors degree. (Two years of related work experience can substitute for one year of college education)

Employment Experience:
  • 5+ years experience with Training, Engineering, Project Management or Manufacturing Operations in a military or civilian environment.
  • Experience creating and/or executing training curricula in a military or civilian environment
  • Leadership experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. US citizenship is required as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Value:
  • Technical Manual / IETMs experience
  • Army or other military experience
  • Experience with the Patriot Air Defense System
  • Experience developing Statement of Works and subcontractor management
  • Project budget management experience / Understanding of Earned Value fundamentals and project budgetary management experience
  • Participation in proposal processes including experience developing and reviewing cost estimates/proposals packages
  • Knowledge of product life cycle management
  • Six Sigma Specialist (or other similar certification)
  • Knowledge of export control regulations (ITAR/EAR)
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise cultural sensitivity
  • A track record of success in delivering on-budget, on-time, correct, high quality, complete work products
  • Effective team building and multitasking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Current Secret clearance
