Raytheons Contracts personnel are entrusted with our most important asset: the trust and respect of our customers. Its no small task, either. Currently, the team helps manage over 15,000 contracts for 8,000 programs supporting customers in 80 different countries. Naval Power Contracts has an opening for a Principal Contracts Specialist on the JSOW program. The person in this role will be responsible for the management and administration of a diverse portfolio of contracts. The primary customers are the U.S. Government and some foreign countries.

The selected Contracts Professional can expect to be engaged in a broad range of activities, including management of developmental contracts to accelerate delivery of technology to the US Military and our allies, supporting production contracts of the worlds most sophisticated weapons, or other exciting business ventures.

Duties include a role in Request for Proposal (RFP) assessment, capture and proposal strategy, contract negotiation and general contract administration. The successful applicant will be the primary customer interface for contracting matters and will be responsible for establishing and maintaining trust and cooperation while ensuring that proposed and negotiated terms and conditions comply with company policies and guidelines.

This Contracts Specialist role offers an opportunity to propose, negotiate, and manage CPFF and FFP contract types for development, integration, and sustainment efforts for US DOD (USG and FMS) while also supporting JSOW production efforts as needed. This role also offers experience in negotiating with commercial customers such as Lockheed Martin and in working with BOA and IDIQ contracts. The selected candidate will advise program management of contractual rights and obligations and means to mitigate contractual/program risks. Minimal travel may be required.

This position is based in Tucson, AZ and anticipates a hybrid (partial telecommuting, partial onsite) work environment.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance within one year

  • Ability to understand the financial aspects of contracts and other business arrangements; ability to contribute to negotiation strategy and possess strong negotiation skills.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and handling several contractual assignments concurrently

  • Proven strong work initiative and ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • 5 years of related contract administration experience including proposal preparation and contract negotiations.
  • BA/BS in Business, Finance, or related field;
  • Experience with FAR, DFARS, ITAR, TINA requirements, terms and conditions.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required

Qualifications We Value:

  • Existing DoD Secret clearance
  • Contract administration experience with the US Department of Defense (DoD)
  • Effective communicator both orally and in writing; strong analytical skills; strong interpersonal skills
  • Computer proficiency, experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and shared data bases
  • Focus on responsiveness with strong time management and organizational skills
  • Previous effective interaction with customers
  • Ability to work within an integrated product team and foster trust with external and internal customers

Security Clearance:
This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret security Clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
