Working in a fast paced, leading edge environment with endless possibilities of innovating and learning then our Graphics & Throughput Computing Hardware Engineering (GTCHE)  team has an opportunity for you.     We are looking for Pre-Silicon Validation Engineer to join our team. In this position, you will be working as part of a Pre-silicon Power Management and Firmware Verification Team for current and next generation Graphics Products.

In this position you will help us with the following responsibilities:

  • Creating test environments, checker strategies, and test generators for validating power management firmware (Pcode)
  • Learning the FW and related IP/SOC architecture by debugging test failures to the root cause
  • Developing and utilizing various software tools and/or methodologies with the goal to ensure highly functional firmware
  • Communicating effectively, coordinating and working with firmware developers and IP teams
  • Potentially participating in the debug of failures in silicon and developing new testing strategies to detect these failures on pre-silicon models

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.

Minimum skills and experience that will get you noticed:

Must have Bachelor's in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field plus 3+ years of industry experience.  Or a Master's degree in the same fields with 1+ years of educational or industry experience or a completed PhD in the same fields.

  • Firmware/Embedded Firmware development or verification.
  • SW development skills (Unit Testing and Test Driven Development) and Debug
  • Object-Oriented Programming Techniques using C/C++, Python or Perl
  • Computer Architecture and Digital Logic

Preferred skills and experience that will make you stand out:

  • Programming experience in Ruby is a plus
  • Reading and interpreting technical specs and Register Transfer Level (RTL) code
  • Power Management (PM) IP, PM Firmware, or PM SoC development, verification, using Verilog/System Verilog/OVM/UVM
  • Verification Techniques including Assertions, Functional Coverage, and Randomized Regressions
