Key Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of both Apple products and customer needs that can be translated into a compelling solution in real-time.
  • Strong sales experience, including: qualifying, overcoming objections and obstacles, and closing business.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Experience selling complex technical solutions.
  • Hands-on knowledge of multiple operating systems including Windows and Mac OS.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Sales-focused, positive, articulate, proactive, goal-oriented, responsive, and committed to excellence.
  • Experience with Healthcare customers, patient care and records systems, and associated regulations.

Description

This individual, reporting to the Northeast Area Higher Education System Engineer Manager, will drive sales both by providing technical sales support and by independently identifying and developing new business opportunities within the territory to increase the adoption and penetration of Apple products. They will architect, validate, demonstrate, and sell complete Apple hardware, software, and services solutions. The individual will provide technical leadership to their sales team and customers as they influence executives, faculty, and technical staff in a pre-sales capacity and will establish and partner with executive leadership in their accounts. Additionally, the SE will focus on:

SALES
- Quickly and accurately qualifies decision makers. Gains and maintains the trust and respect of customers and peers.
- Is comfortable making initial calls on pre-qualified prospects.

TECHNICAL
- Quickly masters technical concepts, processes, details, and skills, and is able to effectively communicate them to a wide variety of audiences.
- Is both a technical generalist covering all of Apple's products relevant to their customers' needs and a specialist in one or more technical verticals.
- Engages effectively in architectural and technical discussions with customer technical staff from the CIO to the Systems Programmer to Help Desk Agent and medical personnel.
- Can self-study to gain knowledge for presentations and proposals.
- Uses proven experience to gain credibility and increased influence with customer executives.

TEAMWORK
- Actively takes the technical lead role on the sales team.
- Coordinates independent activity with Account Executive's agreed plans and goals.
- Proactively manages technical issues in accounts before they become emergencies.
- Strategically leverages Apple and third party subject matter expert resources to shorten the sales cycle.

COMMUNICATION
- Builds and delivers compelling presentations, demonstrations, and seminars.
- Actively coordinates activities and project status with sales team members, manager, and customers.

Education & Experience

Bachelors degree with 5+ years of successful sales engineering experience.
