The CoreOS software team is looking for an exceptionally talented software engineering manager in power systems software group for Apple products. This organization is responsible for development of our core System Management Controller FW/SW platform and system power distribution (PMIC) FW/SW. You will contribute to the success of much of Apple's product line including the AppleWatch, all iOS products, and all Mac products. This is a highly cross functional role where you will work closely with teams across SW, HW systems teams, Platform Architecture, and our Silicon development teams.

Key Qualifications

• 8+ years of embedded software/firmware development experience
• 3+ years of technical leadership and management experience
• Manage a team of highly talented engineers on a day-to-day basis
• Provide hands-on technical leadership to the team
• Define technical requirements from high level product descriptions/asks and deliver to the same
• Identifying and mitigating risks in development activities
• Work with various cross-functional teams to achieve alignment and influence key decisions to deliver successful products
• Ability to handle multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Implement process improvements within the team and cross-functionally
• Monitor, drive and facilitate growth of your team
• Good to have Experience working on embedded power systems technology
• Creating and promoting a development environment that encourages innovation and sets high standards for quality and productivity
• Strengthening the team by hiring and retaining top-flight engineering talent
• Cross-platform project development experience
• Experience with macOS or Linux/Unix device drivers

Experience in managing FW/SW teams with ability to support and deliver on multiple products simultaneously
Support of both new product introduction, and continuing engineering on existing systems
Evidence of driving both technical and process innovation
Strong communication skills
Track record of successfully building relationships and working tightly with cross-functional teams
Passion in leading the development of ground-breaking embedded products

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or related field
