The Mission Capability Verification Center in White Sands, New Mexico is seeking a systems engineer with an electrical background. This engineer will join a team that is supporting an active radar system Integration and Test site on White Sands Missile Range. As part of the team, this engineer will work with local radar system leads to troubleshoot and solve electrical/system related problems and will be the on-site primary for both tactical and commercial power issues, coordinating with Raytheon Technologies IPTs and/or White Sands Missile Range to identify, diagnose and correct related issues. Other responsibilities may include supporting activities to maintain the posture of compliance regarding Raytheon Technologies- and external requirements regarding safety, security and process. Responsibilities may include coordinating activities between Raytheon and Range personnel.

  • This position can be a Salary Grade G08 or Salary Grade G09 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position

Required Skills:

  • B.S. Electrical Engineering, or related STEM degree
  • 4 years experience designing and/or trouble-shooting electrical systems
  • Knowledge and experience with electrical power systems
  • Experience with RF systems, troubleshooting, and reading/utilizing hardware schematics.
  • Extensive experience with UNIX based OS platforms (Solaris, HP-UX, LINUX etc.)
  • Experience in maintaining and providing engineering assessment and corrective actions on faulted equipment, and installation and testing of engineering modifications/updates.
  • Secret Clearance
  • This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with THAAD radar system equipment operation and maintenance
  • Experience supporting bids/proposals
  • Established relationships with key external, and Raytheon Technologies internal, I&T customer base
  • Demonstrated knowledge RF survey technologies and procedures
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety guidelines
  • Satellite Accumulation Point (SAP) Custodian certification
  • Knowledge, experience regarding critical lift operations
  • Basis of Estimate (BOE) certification; Proposal lead experience;
  • Experience with systems engineering, integration and test on one or more military test ranges
  • Experience using design, debug, and test hardware/software.
  • Knowledge of analog/digital hardware design.
  • Excellent teaming skills, multi-task, work under stress, support across multiple disciplines, and flexible to travel to support the radar.
  • Familiarity with Network equipment configuration/setup (routers switches etc)
